Sleepy head

I was helping a friend pack to move the other day and this little girl slept on the couch through the whole thing--even me vacuuming right by her and all the people talking and laughing.  I like these photos of her, but they really don't do her justice--she is beautiful.

Pockets of beauty

In the face of all the destruction around us, I have been craving beauty.  So, I took K out to a nearby field and took these.  I had to be careful where I positioned her so I didn't get the stray chairs, rope, and assorted trash in the photos--but it wasn't too difficult. I also waited a bit late, so the shadows are pretty heavy.  But we had a nice time together, and you can't beat that. :-)

Our town

Roadrunner is back up and running today, so here are a few recent photos of our town.  There are so many houses, block after block after block, where the yards are piled high with people's stuff--their lives, really.  It's indescribably sad.
